The prescription PDF
GetClinic generates GPHS-compliant private prescription PDFs that meet UK regulatory requirements for private prescribing.
PDF layout
- Letterhead — clinic logo (if uploaded) or clinic name, contact details
- "PRIVATE PRESCRIPTION" — prominent bordered heading
- Prescription number and issue date
- Patient details — name, address, DOB, phone, email, NHS number
- Medication — drug name in CAPITALS, strength/form, quantity, repeats, type
- Directions for use — in a bordered box
- Validity bar — date issued, valid until, Rx number
- Prescriber section — name, profession, registration number, qualifications
- AES signature block — "Digitally Signed via GetClinic AES" with identity, timestamp
- Pharmacist signature box — blank space for dispensing pharmacist
- QR code & token — for pharmacy verification
- Legal footer — compliance statement, clinic contact
Printing the prescription
Click Print / PDF on any signed prescription. The prescription opens in a new browser tab and the print dialog opens automatically. You can print to paper or save as PDF.
Using your clinic logo
Upload your clinic logo in Settings → Practice. Once set, it appears on all prescription PDFs as the letterhead. Supported formats: PNG, JPEG, WebP (max 5MB).
