Booking a new appointment
GetClinic supports three appointment types — video, phone, and in-person. Video consultations use Jitsi Meet with an automatically generated secure room link.
How to book
- Click Appointments in the left navigation
- Click + New Appointment
- Search for and select the patient (or create a new patient)
- Choose the appointment type: Video, Phone, or In Person
- Set the date and time
- Optionally set a duration, reason, and notes
- Click Book Appointment
Appointment types
| Type | What happens |
|---|---|
| Video Consultation | A unique Jitsi Meet link is generated. Share it with the patient. Both clinician and patient can join from any browser — no app required. |
| Phone Call | Logged in the system. No automated call — you call the patient at the scheduled time. |
| Face-to-Face | In-clinic consultation. Appointment appears in your schedule. |
Video consultation join link
After booking a video appointment, the unique join link appears on the appointment detail page. Share this with the patient via email or copy the link manually.
💡 Tip: Video consultations work best in Chrome or Firefox. Advise patients to allow camera and microphone access when prompted.
